The KMNDR 1U from Koma Elektronik is an infrared CV controller in Intellijel 1U format. The sensor measures the distance to objects such as the hand and thus generates a continuous voltage in the range of 0-10 volts. In addition, the module generates a gate voltage that is generated and maintained with each new intervention in the measurement. The following applies to the KMNDR 1U: the eye also modulates! This is because the sound changes, which are literally plucked out of the air, are visually striking and some of you may remember the concept from the old Roland grooveboxes. If you use two KMNDR 1U controllers as well as an oscillator and a VCA, you can build an infrared theremin;-)
