PDP Concept Maple: Compact jazz drum kit in the Bop configuration.

The name Concept Maple already gives it away: All shells are made entirely of maple and feature seven layers of wood. This is supported by another concept already known from DW, the Graduated Counter Hoops. Here the diameter of the hoop is adapted to the size of the shell. This means that the thickness of the hoop is adjusted to the size of the shell, so smaller toms are not unnecessarily constricted while larger shells get the stronger hoop they need to focus the sound. A concept taken over from the parent company DW is FinishPly. Here, the wrap on the outside of the shell is included in the sound-determining shell construction so it features the same bearing edge like the other wood plies.
