The "Controlled Sound X" heads from Remo consist of a 12 mil thick single layer of Mylar film and are reinforced on the underside by a 5 mil dot. This construction promises not only a significantly longer life, it especially increases the tone control in the midrange - this makes the Controlled Sound X skins ideal for snare drums that move in the high-frequency range.
