The MAUI 44 G2 W at a glance
For bands and DJs, column systems have sparked a true revolution in numerous applications. It has never been easier to evenly sound even large rooms with a small and unobtrusive PA system. With the LD-Systems MAUI 44 G2 W, the professional segment is now also served by these practical and powerful sound reinforcement systems. The new flagship of the MAUI series and offers a generous 1,500 watts of total power (RMS) with a frequency response of 37 Hz to 20 kHz and a sound pressure of 132 dB (peak). With its superior sound characteristics and multiple features, this compact column PA is recommended for rental companies, musicians, small clubs, street festivals as well as fixed installations.
The cardioid characteristics of the column elements, as well as the possibility of achieving a cardioid application in the bass range with an additional subwoofer, further illustrate the professional claim of this sound system. A rear attenuation of 18 dB is achieved for the column, and 15 dB for the subwoofer. The MAUI 44 G2 W also sets the tone when it comes to equipping the two-part column with twelve 3.5" neodymium full-range speakers and four 1" HF drivers with waveguide.
Phase plugs on the six upper drivers improve horizontal directivity, reduce distortion, and optimize sensitivity below the crossover frequency for the tweeters. In addition, the four tweeters feature specially designed and optimized compression drivers connected to a constant-directivity waveguide for 120° of coverage across the width and 25° of focused vertical directivity. The curved design of the waveguide transports more energy in the high frequencies to listeners standing farther away.
Connections
On the input side, the system offers two XLR IN connectors. Two XLR outputs allow for wired stereo configuration of two systems. An additional subwoofer can be connected via the SUB OUT, and power is supplied safely and reliably via a PowerCon connector.
Automatic setup detection & TrueWireless stereo function
Another particularly user-friendly feature is the automatic setup recognition of the MAUI 44 G2 W: If, for example, the column is removed to use the subwoofer as a follower, the display automatically jumps to FOLLOWER and functions such as Bluetooth and the volume controls for MAIN and SUB are no longer displayed.
For fixed installations or conference sound reinforcement, the TrueWireless™ stereo feature makes it much easier. This technology allows two systems to be connected wirelessly for stereo playback. Bluetooth® streaming in HD quality is easily possible thanks to aptX™ and AAC encoding, and DynX® DSP technology guarantees distortion-free sound reproduction even at the highest volumes. Overall and subwoofer levels are individually adjustable for perfectly balanced sound in any situation, with crystal-clear highs, crisp mids and especially powerful bass thanks to the flow-optimized bass-reflex channels.
Quick and easy set-up
But also in terms of transport and mobile use, the MAUI 44 G2 W is absolute top class. Setup is quick and easy without cables and stands using special multi-pin connectors. Together, the robust subwoofer housing made of birch plywood with polyurea coating and the lightweight, powder-coated aluminum column weigh less than 48 kg. Compared to the previous model, the Gewicht and 20% could be reduced. The optionally available transport roll board, the transport bag and the Sub Cover perform in everyday use best services.
