In the construction of the Tribute Series Kiloton Fretless, G&L pays special attention to a powerful sound with typical fretless character and excellent handling. The poplar body, which features a swamp ash top and generous shaping, hugs the player with optimal balance both in a seated position and on the strap, while the narrow "Medium C" profile of the bolt-on maple neck lets any Bassline go out of the fingers with incredible ease. The fretless rosewood fingerboard also provides the indulgently responsive fretless sound, with fretlines helping with clean intonation.

Powerful sound thanks to MFD Humbucker

For the electric tone conversion, G&L equips the Tribute Series Kiloton Fretless Bass with a powerful Magnetic Field Design Humbucker. Placed in the sweet spot between the middle and bridge positions, the Bass pickup, which is equipped with fat pole pieces, delivers a powerful sound image that presents the singing tone of the fretless fingerboard with rich pressure in the low end and the right amount of brilliant assertiveness. Via the small 3-way switch between the Volume and Tone controls, the coils of the MFD humbucker can be called up in parallel or serial connection as well as in split mode, so that three distinct basic tones are available.

Indestructible Hardware with Saddle-Lock Bridge

Of course, the G&L Tribute Series Kiloton Fretless RW 3-Tone Sunburst comes with high-quality hardware equipment, which also scores on the road with unlimited reliability. The solidly built G&L Saddle-Lock Bridge not only guarantees an optimal adjustment of intonation and string action but also supports the first-class sound of the bass guitar through the bombproof lockable tail pieces. In addition, traditional open-back tuners with open gears ensure precise tuning on the headstock, which features the typical G&L design.
