With the Fender Jack White Triplecaster Telecaster, Fender presents a truly unique instrument that is just as unconventional and interesting as its owner. With its unconventional and innovative triple pickup configuration, the signature guitar of musician, producer and multiple Grammy winner Jack White is easily capable of producing a wide range of sounds that are unattainable with conventional Tele models. The hardware equipment has also been specially tailored to Jack's requirements and presents some interesting visual and functional upgrades. Furthermore, the Fender Jack White Triplecaster Telecaster comes with a matching hardshell Case in the colourful style of Jack White's Third Man Records label.
The basic construction of the Jack White Triplecaster follows the classic design specifications of the Telecaster and consists of an ash body with additional resonance chambers. These not only add a classic semi-hollow character to the basic sound of the instrument, but also noticeably reduce the overall weight of the guitar. The classic maple neck is bolted four times over the contoured neck foot. Its soft "V" profile creates an authentic vintage feel and forms a good basis for unerring leads and controlled chord playing on the fingerboard, which is fitted with 22 medium jumbo frets.
The Fender Jack White Triplecaster Telecaster draws its unique sound spectrum from its unconventional pickup setup, which consists of three pickups specially made for Jack White's signature guitar. At the bridge, a Jack White Custom humbucker with slug coil and blade coil provides extraordinary steam and wide-ranging rock sounds. In the middle, on the other hand, a custom JW-90 single-coil delivers distinctive mid-range sounds with clear references to traditional P-90 pickups. The Set is completed by a Jack White CuNiFe Wide Range humbucker on the neck. The 3-way switch provides a mute function or a "direct-to-jack" function, while the arcade-style "stutter" switch is available for crazy killswitch sounds.
The hardware equipment of the Jack White Triplecaster Telecaster also follows the overall concept and is equally unconventional. The classic Tele bridge has been replaced by a shortened 3-saddle "cut-off" Tele bridge which, together with the Bigsby B5C vibrato behind it, provides reliable tuning stability. Six Fender Standard Cast/Sealed tuners are used on the headstock. As a practical special feature for fans of drop tunings, a Hipshot Xtender is installed on the low E-string machine head, which lowers the tuning of the E-string to a predefined pitch simply by operating the lever, making drop D tunings achievable in a flash.
