The Midas 522 V2 offers a wide range of options at its usual low price while maintaining professional sound quality. The functions that go beyond a classic compressor and limiter include the side chain filter at 200Hz, which allows bass frequencies to pass through uncompressed, the auto release function and a button that switches the compression characteristic to the more aggressive hard knee.

As a special extra, the 522 V2 has a presence control in the form of a dynamic filter that attenuates the side chain signal in a range of 4 octaves and 5kHz, so that the compression is lower here. This allows vocals in particular to retain their natural timbre even with heavy compression.

The Midas 522 V2 works with an electronic desymmetrizer circuit at the input and a Midas transformer at the output for a frequency response that is as linear and distortion-free as possible while ensuring galvanic isolation.
