With the Simplifier Bass Master, DSM & Humboldt presents a further development of the popular Bass Station - the extension of the extensive bass preamp is more compact, more practical and equipped with even more options for stage, studio and home recording. or clean bass sounds, powerful compression or warm drive: The Bass Master provides all the building blocks for modern bass sounds - ready to use in any live situation or as a central element in your recording setup. Despite its compact format, the pedal offers sonic depth and extensive features that are rarely found in this form. On board are threedifferent soundingpreamp modes, a flexible EQ layout and a comprehensive routing system including speaker simulation.
At the heart of the Bass Master is a three-stage preamp with Clean, Comp and Hot modes, which can be selected directly via a switch. Whether you prefer a neutral signal with maximum transparency, want to refine your tone with targeted compression or are into authentic tube saturation and harmonic overtones - the Bass Master delivers the right sound for your style. An additional parallel signal path including a low-pass filter allows the separate mixing of a sub-range, which gives the signal even more foundation and punch. The 4-band tone control with semi-parametric mids enables precise fine-tuning across the entire frequency spectrum. Additional sound shaping is provided by the integrated, fully analog speaker simulation located at the end of the signal chain. Various speaker configurations can be simulated here - from 1x15 to 4x10 to the classic 8x10 stack. In addition to the cabinet size of the emulated speaker, the sound behavior of the speakers (Warm, Bright or Modern), the resonance of the bass reflex port and the proportion of a simulated tweeter can also be controlled. The Bass Master therefore offers a remarkable variety of sound profiles, covering everything from a rich vintage foundation to a modern, articulated top end.
The Bass Master is also extremely well thought-out when it comes to connectivity: two separate XLR outputs (main and parallel) allow the preamp and parallel sub signal to be routed to different channels - ideal for FOH mixes, recording scenarios or operation with an additional subwoofer. Two jack outputs also allow the input signal to be looped through in parallel (Thru) and the CabSim signal to be tapped with or without speaker simulation. A switchable pre-FX insert also allows effects devices to be looped into either the main or parallel signal path - or both at the same time. Other practical features such as a headphone output with aux-in for silent practicing, a buffer/true bypass switch and MIDI compatibility via TRS round off the overall package.
