The DiMarzio Super Distortion humbucker pickup started a pickup revolution. The Super Distortion was the first pickup specifically designed to kick a tube amp into total overdrive, and is still the standard by which all other high-output pickups are measured. Both single-notes and chords jump out and fill the room. It's 4-conductor wiring allows this pickup to be coil-split for a more traditional Strat tone.
