The SE electronics Voodoo VR1VE microphone has an extremely well-balanced frequency response for a ribbon microphone: Due to its mechanical construction, it reaches almost the hearing threshold in the high frequencies and thus delivers the pleasant, silky sound known from ribbon microphones without the typical loss of high frequencies. This makes the microphone ideal for all recording situations that were previously reserved for condenser microphones, such as room/ambience miking or on acoustic pianos, guitars and strings, but it also shines in the other typical scenarios, such as as a drum overhead or in front of a guitar amp. Due to its figure-8 polar pattern, it can therefore also be used together with a condenser microphone in an M/S configuration. Due to its low output level, the SE electronics Voodoo VR1 VE should be used in conjunction with a high-quality preamplifier.
