The Gibson 1961 ES-335 Reissue VOS Sixties Cherry Semi-Hollow electric guitar from the Historic Collection of the Gibson Custom store is a detailed replica of the legendary early sixties '335 with an authentic vintage feel in terms of look, sound and handling. In addition to the historically accurate construction with a maple-poplar laminate body and mahogany neck glued by Hide-Glue , Gibson uses two Custom buckers and a hand-wired circuit with paper-in-oil caps for the Semi-Hollow guitar to conjure up the coveted PAF sound. Historically accurate construction
The construction of the 1961 ES-335 Reissue follows the historically Gibson Custom Shop The top, back and sides are made of three-ply maple-poplar laminate and stabilized by a solid maple center block to achieve an airy, resonant tone without feedback clouding the enjoyment of the sound. The mahogany neck, glued with hide-glue and a long neck heel, offers extremely comfortable playing characteristics with the surprisingly slim "SlimTaper '60s C" profile so that the classic techniques of Blues and rock can be implemented with ease. The vintage patina of the VOS nitro lacquer finish also conveys the look and feel of an ideally aged original from the period.
Two Alnico III braced custom bucker and hand-wired electrics with paper-in-oil caps promise authentic vintage sounds.

With two Gibson Custom Bucker pickups, the 1961 ES-335 Reissue delivers top-class vintage sounds on the guitar amplifier, capturing the resonant timbre of the Electric Spanish Guitar with lively dynamics. By using Alnico III magnets and non-waxed coils, the pickups built according to historical models offer the authentic sound character of the legendary PAF humbuckers with a sensitive response to the playing style and a vocal mid-range spectrum. In addition to a Switchcraft switch for pickup selection and separate volume and tone controls for each pickup, the hand-wired circuit features high-caliber oil paper capacitors for harmonic Treble roll-offs.
Historically accurate detail: Kluson tuners with double-ring wings and single-row case labeling keep the 1961 ES-335 securely in tune.
