The three single coil pickups can be used with a 5-way switch and Master Volume, Tone 1 and Tone 2 controls to elicit a familiar Stratocaster sound spectrum from bright-bellish to low-muted tones. Completing the Squier Sonic Strat is a vintage bridge with Tremolo arm, the Squier neckplate, skunk stripe and sealed-cast tuning machines.
