Legendary tape delays revived
The RE-201 Space Echo plug-in is an authentic recreation of the legendary Roland RE-201, one of the most famous tape delay devicesin music history. With its iconic sound created by different head combinations and an integrated spring reverb, this plug-in offers the possibility to use the unique sounds of the original in modern music production.
The plug-in features a high-resolution, customizable interface that faithfully recreates the charm and feel of the original Hardware . With a variety of over 50 professionally designed presets, it is versatile and perfect for a wide range of sound sources including keyboards, guitars, drums and vocals. It also allows the independent use or combination of Delay and spring reverb, creating particularly spacious sounds.
For modern production, the RE-201 plug-in offers advanced parameters such as six tape speed LFO shapes with tempo synchronization as well as options for adjusting tape wow and flutter, motor torque and the overall state of the device. These features allow you to realistically recreate the behavior of the original Space Echo, from a brand new to a heavily aged device.
Also worth mentioning is the faithful reproduction of the tape saturation and the integrated preamp, which preserves the warm, velvety sound of the original. The control of the inputs and volume knobs, as found on the original device, allows precise adjustment of the sound, from a gentle overdrive to distorted, overdriven effects.
The plug-in was developed using the latest modeling technologies and extensive analysis of several vintage RE-201 units, including an original unit from the Roland factory archive.
