Vermona Bass|Drum at a glance

Bass|Drum is Vermona's second module with a focus on electronic Percussion sounds. The focus here is clearly on crisp kick drums and even voluminous basslines can be realised effortlessly. The circuit comes from the kick channel of the DRM1 MkIV and has been further optimised for use in Eurorack . The kick drum sounds unmistakably cover the TR character and span a very wide range, covering everything from very soft and restrained to a solid and hard industrial techno kick. The oscillator's frequency range can be switched between high and low, and the waveform can be faded continuously from triangle to sine to square. The Bend and Time parameters form the pitch envelope. Attack adds a pulse to the oscillator to create even more present drum sounds. The decay envelope has a particularly long decay time. The three orange controls are attenuators for the control voltage inputs of the Decay, Pitch and Wave parameters; this means that these parameters are not constantly modulated with the full voltage. The Drum sounds are triggered via the trigger input or with the manual button. The Dynamic input does more than just control the volume (Accent); depending on the setting, it changes a number of nuances in the sound. Bass|Drum can be played tonally over four octaves via the 1V/Oct input. To modulate the other CV inputs, we recommend using a synchronised LFO and eg. to create powerful walking basslines in Jomox style or kicks with a variable degree of hardness with each new trigger. Bass|Drum is so versatile that you might get the idea that you no longer need another kick drum specialist. Toms, high-frequency pings and piuuus and percussive chirps are also part of this module's repertoire.
