Noise Engineering Toros Iteritas Alia at a glance

The Toros Iteritas Alia from Noise Engineering is a digital oscillator with a focus on drone sounds and interlocking sounds. At the heart of the oscillator is the multi-operator phase modulation synthesis with three different algorithms for three or four oscillators. The Blendex controls route each oscillator to the output or phase modulation input of the next oscillator in the algorithm (depending on the algorithm). The control range of the frequency controls can be scaled to cover either a minor third, an octave or two octaves. Each control element has its own CV input, allowing you to create incredibly variable timbres. The spectrum here ranges from bloodcurdling basses to wacky, almost surreal sounds. The printed cogwheels on this module actually mean that one function interlocks with another; the further back you go, the more a change (whether on the controller or via CV) only affects one aspect of the sound. In addition to the main output, TIA has an octave jump gate input and a button, which are perfect for performance or creative sequencer patching. The fun output generates a buzzing sawtooth based on the fundamental frequency of the oscillator core.
