MODO Bass 2 is the advanced edition of IK Multimedia's popular virtual bass VST that allows you to record impressive bass grooves and patterns from your master keyboard (or program them via mouse & keyboard) and edit them afterwards to get the ultimate bass sound for your music production. The software for Mac and PC provides 22 basses including contrabass and fretless models, all of which can be modified/edited down to the smallest detail and according to your ideas in terms of playing technique and realism. or string force, hand position, tuning, mechanics, age, pick thickness - this bass plug-in (which by the way can also be used as standalone without DAW) offers everything a musician's heart desires!
MODO Bass 2 offers you a total of seven virtual stompbox effects and two classic bass amps, all equipped with many functions to find/create your individual sound. On board are Octaver, Distortion, Chorus, Compressor, Delay, Envelope Filter or Graphic EQ, which are already used a lot in AmpliTube. The cabs are a 1x15 cab or a 4x10 solid-state model.
Interesting for AmpliTube 5 users: There is even the possibility to route the MODO BASS 2 signal into AmpliTube, and get even more options!
Since upright basses and their sound are a subject all their own, a separate section has been created to give you more flexibility in editing. It includes a selection of positionable mics, offers additional room mics for adjusting the ambient sound, lets you experiment with MODO's stomps and amps, and adds the piezo signal.
The software lets you experiment in real time with different types of bass pickups and adjust their position and frequency response. Choose between 32 pickup models with completely unique sound character, move the pickups to find your sound, create combinations that are hardly possible in reality, switch from passive to active electronics with the parametric EQ or blend a piezo pickup signal in Mix !
If you want to dive even deeper into the software you can access all important MIDI parameters in the control sketch and automate them in realtime. Changing these parameters in real time during a performance is one of the great secrets to ultimate realism while working with virtual instruments. And MODO Bass does just that. or vibrato, playing style, mute, slide, ambient noise...the possibilities are almost endless.
