Flexible use

The Digiface AES is a real "Swiss army knife" due to the many connection possibilities. or AES/EBU, XLR Out, SPDIF Coax, SPDIF Optical or 8 channel ADAT - all I/Os can be used simultaneously, which leads to flexible application possibilities. The integrated Sample Rate converter can be switched to one of the three inputs to solve clock problems and adapt to other sample rates. Thus the device can be eg. AES clock-synchronized from the main source and listen to SPDIF independently at the same time. The interface is rounded off by an included breakout cable for MIDI-capable devices.

Full throttle in standalone mode

All functions can be controlled directly from the front panel by means of rotary encoders and several push buttons, providing convenient and direct access to all functions. With the four keys and the encoder, a high-resolution and clear colour display as well as a well-thought-out menu structure, you can make changes and configurations of the device at any time.

The internal memory allows you to store six different device configurations. This way the audio interface can be transformed into a number of completely different devices at the push of a button, which is especially useful in standalone operation. Furthermore, TotalMix FX can also be controlled externally via MIDI .

Mixing, monitoring & measuring made easy

Like all other current RME interfaces, the Digiface AES comes with a powerful real-time digital mixer - TotalMix FX. With its help you can perform any mixing and routing operations with all inputs and playback tracks to any hardware outputs.

Extensive features are also provided by the mixer through a Control Room section with talkback, main/phones, fader groups, mute groups, complete remote controllability via Mackie and OSC protocols and much more! The Digiface series does not support DSP-based effects (FX), such as EQ or Reverb.

Extending the power of the RME interfaces is TotalMix Remote, enabling remote control via iOS, PC or Mac. After a short and intuitive setup process, every aspect of TltalMix FX can be instantly adjusted on a host system while you eg. walk through the Studio with your tablet. It doesn't matter where the control room is located in your facility.
