The Tascam BD-MP4K is a modern player for mobile or stationary use in a 19" rack. Compared to the classic BD-MP1, it masters playback in 4k UDH format, so that even large screens can display high-resolution images. Additionally, it now supports SD memory cards up to 512GB and USB sticks up to 2TB storage capacity. When connected to a network storage device, the BD-MP4K can directly access the formats stored there if Samba sharing is in place. As with the BD-MP1, remote control can be achieved via LAN or a separately available RS-232C control unit, respectively, using the included infrared remote control.

The comprehensive menu of the Tascam BD-MP4K media player leaves virtually nothing to be desired: Seamless playback loops of chapters or titles or between two markers can be created, the Instant Playback and Remember Last Position options define the behavior of the device after it is turned back on, and the front panel controls can be locked to protect against accidental or unauthorized access.

The BD-MP4K plays all major file formats for video and audio, including FLAC, MOV, APE, DAT and more. Storage media are recognized as FAT or NTFS.
