The Austrian Audio MiCreator Y-Lav is a cardioid lavalier microphone for optimal recording in interview situations. The microphone has a metal clip for attaching to clothing so that the person in question does not have to hold anything in their hands and is not restricted in their freedom of action. Due to its polar pattern, the device picks up sound equally well from all directions, which is why it should be placed as close to the mouth as possible when recording voices. The windscreen included in the scope of delivery protects against breathing noise and does not alter the sound, which is why it should also be used when recording in windless environments. The MiCreator Y-Lav has no internal amplification, so the volume depends on the end device. The headphone amplification is also set appropriately on the end device.
The microphone has a 2m long cable with a 3.5mm TRRS jack connection for connecting to a terminal device. A headset can also be connected via the 3.5mm jack socket. Optimum results can be achieved in conjunction with the MiCreator Studio microphone. To do this, the jack connection of the 2m cable of the Y-Lav is simply plugged into the "in/out" socket of the MiCreator Studio . If this is the case, the second headphone output of the MiCreaor Studio is forwarded to the 3.5mm headphone socket of the MiCreator Y-Lav, which means that an interview can be conducted with little cabling, with both people receiving feeds via headphones.
