iZotope's Neutron 5 offers a comprehensive suite of intelligent audio tools that simplify and refine the mixing process. Core features include the Mix Assistant, which performs basic editing to support the creative intent of a mix. With a variety of tools such as the equaliser, compressor and multiband clipper, the user can make detailed and targeted adjustments to the sound. The new Density option enables upward compression, which gives the audio additional body. Another highlight is the phasemodule, which automatically corrects phase problems in the signal for a clearer Mix .

Neutron 5 has a modular design and allows the individual modules to be added, removed and rearranged in the signal chain. In addition to the classic Equaliser and compressor, other tools such as Sculptor, Exciter and Transient Shaper are available, which enable targeted adjustments to the frequency spectrum and dynamically shape the sound. The tool also works with Inter Plugin Communication (IPC) technology, which allows data to be transferred between compatible plug-ins in a session and uses the masking meter, for example, to minimise frequency overlaps.

The user-friendly interface, which provides an overview of the signal chain as well as detailed module settings, ensures simple operation.
