Like its orange brother, the Warm Audio TB12 Tone Beast Black is no delicate wallflower. The Tone Beast makes this clear with its characteristic coloration when treated appropriately. As soon as the device is fed with a high gain, it shows its true strength. However, as this is not always suitable in every situation, the device offers various modes. The 1731 is a vintage-style opamp and has more coloration than the clean, modern and milder saturation character of the 918. If absolutely no coloration is desired, the output transformers can be deactivated using the bypass switch.
