With the Ortega Hydra-BSTE Ortega Guitars sends an extraordinary Doubleneck instrument into the race, which animates with the combination of bass ukulele and tenor ukulele to creative flights of fancy. Thanks to the integrated MagusUke pickup system, the Hydra BSTE Doubleneck Ukulele is not only suitable for stage performance with an amplifier, but also for inspired song development with a looper or DAW.

Dao wood body and two necks

For the body of the Hydra-BSTE Ortega uses laminated Dao wood in an open-pored satin finish, which not only pleases with its intense grain, but also guarantees a full and balanced sound when played on both necks. While the bass neck of the Hydra comes up with a surprisingly double bass-like sound thanks to its 20" scale length and the special synthetic strings, the tenor neck with 17" scale length offers the typical, percussive and brilliant ukulele tone.

MagusUke pickup system

To use the Hydra-BSTE with a looper pedal or acoustic amplifier, Ortega equips it with the proven MagusUke pickup system. Thanks to the natural and detailed output, the pickup system skillfully captures both the instrument tone and every playing detail. A 3-way switch lets you choose whether the sounds of both necks are sent to the pickup individually or simultaneously. In addition, a 3-band equalizer and a practical tuner are available.
