The Violectric DHA V380²is a combined preamplifier and high-performance DA converter with a focus on headphone operation. It concentrates on a few core features, which it nevertheless fulfils with flying colours: An internal transformer power supply generates a clean 50V operating voltage, which on the one hand allows a large headroom with very low distortion values and on the other hand a high output voltage up to 21V. This means that even high-impedance headphones can be reliably powered. The oversized output amplifier provides up to 5W per channel, so that low impedance headphones and even demanding magnetostats are supplied with sufficient power. A digital audio signal in S/PDIF, PCM or DSD formats can be fed in via a choice of USB, coax or optical cable and converted to high-end studio quality. So that you can benefit from the absolutely professional sound of this converter component not only when listening via headphones, the DHA V380 also has balanced and unbalanced outputs with which you can drive a power amplifier or a pair of active monitors. There are also 2 pairs of RCA inputs for analog signal sources. Source and destination selection can be conveniently made via toggle switches on the front panel.
