The Schecter Traditional Van Nuys draws inspiration from the early Schecter Custom Shop models built in Van Nuys, California, in the late seventies. With traditional body designs, hot wound pickups and slim necks, these instruments quickly found their way into the emerging shred scene, laying the foundation for today's Schecter lineup. The Schecter Traditional Van Nuys recalls these classic design elements and proves to be a highly capable instrument for players with demanding technical requirements.
The Traditional Van Nuys is based on a classic ST style body made of lightweight ash with a deep tummy cut and an additional forearm contour for maximum comfort in every register. Supporting advanced playing techniques, the four bolt roasted maple neck features a slim vintage C profile, a wide 14 inch fingerboard radius and 22 jumbo frets, all ideal for effortless lead playing.
To provide the widest possible range of sounds, Schecter equips the Traditional Van Nuys with a classic HSS configuration consisting of a Schecter USA SuperRock Vintage humbucker in the bridge position and two Schecter USA MonsterTone single coils at the neck and middle. The bridge pickup delivers creamy humbucker tones and airy coil tap sounds, while the two single coils with enlarged pole pieces add clarity and an extra punch.
Completing the traditional setup is a Schecter Diamond Vintage tremolo that delivers tuning stable vibrato effects thanks to its reliable two point mounting. Six Schecter locking tuners further enhance stability and make string changes quick and simple, while reducing the number of windings around the posts for improved tuning accuracy.
