      Resonate by After Later Audio is the reissue of the popular digital resonator oscillator Ring by Mutable Instruments. The module focuses on the resonator section included in the ALA Quarks, and rather than being a complete synth voice, focuses on elaborating resonances that can be animated using minimal clicks, trigger pulses and granular noise, and then elaborated using Quarks' parameters. The module can be set up so that each note vibrates as its own virtual string. This allows a new string to be struck while the previous notes are still decaying. This independent polyphony with up to four voices makes it possible to play the "strings" of a chord one after the other (strumming playing technique).

      Three different vibration structures are simulated in Resonate on a physical modeling basis:

      • Simulation of strings, membranes and tubes as used in Elements Resonator section. (Modal Synthesis)
      • Simulation of strings that are connected to each other, causing adjacent strings to resonate (String Resonator).
      • Simulation of plucked and stringed instruments using several short delay lines and high feedback values.
