The design series of the manufacturer Drum Workshop combines high-quality workmanship through selected materials, revised features and all that at a sensational price. The manufacturing methods of this series are similar to those of the DW High-End Drums. The same layer distribution in HVLT format (Horizontal Outside + Vertical Low Timbre) is used, which gives the drums not only stability but also a well-balanced sound by a fixed sequence of different layers of North American maple, which is expressed by a rich and clear sound reproduction. Eight layers are used for the TomToms and Bassdrum.

All drums in DW's Design Series five-piece Rock Shellset feature completely redesigned "Mini Turret Lugs" that not only look good, but also weigh less and provide better resonance. With DW's patented STM Mount System, the drum can be easily and quickly brought into the desired position. The triple-flanged hoops, True-Pitch tension rods and original heads made by REMO ensure a safe and stable tuning as well as an enduring and long-lasting performance.
The set comes in an elegant white gloss finish and the UV-hardened lacquer does not only give it a great appearance, but also ensures good resonance behavior. The individual wood grain underlines the individual design and thus the name of this beautiful series.
