Synthesis & Filter

At the heart of the Carbon8M are the two high-resolution oscillators, which offer a Mix of 18 algorithms and 38 wavetables, i.e. a total of 56 waveform models. To process the oscillators, 18 XCore modifiers are available at oscillator level, including wavefolding, waveshaper, ring modulation, hardsync, phasedistortion and bitcrushing, representing an astonishing expansion of the existing spectrum. A nice detail are the vintage parameters, with which the accurate "circuits" (oscillator drift, filter, envelope behavior...) can be shifted towards the component-related inaccuracies of old synthesizers. In this way, the best possible vintage sound is achieved. The carefully generated sound is then processed by a multimode morphing filter, which is a treasure trove for crazy sound design with 34 resonant filter types.

At its core, the Carbon8M features two high-resolution oscillators offering 56 sound-generating models a combination of 18 synthesis algorithms and 38 wavetables. Enhancing the oscillator capabilities are 18 powerful XCore modifiers, including wavefolding, waveshaping, ring modulation, hard sync, phase distortion, and bitcrushing, opening up vast sonic territories. For an added layer of character, "Vintage" parameters allow you to emulate the nuanced imperfections of classic analog circuits (e.g., oscillator drift, filter instability), adding warmth and unpredictability. The sculpted waveform is then passed through a multimode morphing filter with 34 resonant types, delivering everything from classic sweeps to wild, experimental filter behavior.

Modulation & Controller

Modulation is at the heart of the Carbon8M's expressiveness. It offers three dedicated ADSR envelopes (for VCA, VCF, and general modulation), and three LFOs capable of syncing to BPM or running at audio rates for FM-style effects. A built-in X/Y joystick replaces traditional pitch and mod wheels, while serving as its own modulation source. A flexible modulation matrix gives you full creative freedom, with eight modulation slots that can be assigned from 12 sources to 55 possible destinations—ideal for complex and evolving patches.

Effects

Three independent stereo effects processors enhance the Carbon8M's sound with a choice of 26 algorithms. Whether you're after dreamy delays, immersive reverbs, sweeping phasers, jet-like flangers, or gritty LoFi textures, these effects can be flexibly assigned to any patch. There are 100 user slots for saving custom effect chains, offering both depth and convenience.
