



With the Fireface UFX III, pro audio manufacturer RME offers an interface equipped for high-end demands, which is used as the heart of professional studio applications. The modern USB 3.0 interface offers numerous connection options including optical and coaxial MADI interfaces and high-quality SteadyClock FS technology for jitter-free performance and easy interaction with a wide range of additional equipment. Other features include DURec direct recording capability and an incredibly flexible mixing interface with professional DSP effects and state-of-the-art converter technology with 192 kHz sampling rate and 24-bit resolution.
As the first interface of the Fireface series, the UFX III relies on high-performance USB 3.0 transfer to master even demanding multi-channel recordings and the transfer of up to 94 input and output signals without any problems. Via the front USB port, the powerful interface also offers the possibility to record up to 80 scrambled input and output signals to connected USB storage media such as external hard disks via the independent DURec function.
Four XLR or TRS combo inputs for recording line, instrument or microphone signals and two headphone jacks on the front panel of the Fireface UFX III provide the right connectivity for any application. On the rear panel, on the other hand, there are eight additional line inputs in TRS jack format and another eight line-level outputs, two of which are XLR and the other six TRS connectors. Of course, the UFX III also offers 5-pin connectors for MIDI control as well as numerous digital connections for ADAT, AES/EBU and Word Clock.
The optical MADI interface of the RME Fireface UFX III with 64 bidirectional channels opens up numerous options to connect various digital and analog devices to the UFX III, and to provide numerous additional mixing and routing possibilities. The word clock connectors (BNC) on the rear panel can be used as additional coaxial MADI inputs and outputs, and in split mode both MADI I/Os can be operated simultaneously with 32 optical and coaxial channels each.
With numerous other high-quality functions and features on board, the RME Fireface UFX III is clearly aimed at professional users. SteadyClock in the latest FS version ensures absolute jitter immunity and top performance in all clock modes. On the other hand, the device is easily operated via an easy-to-read color display, four buttons and two additional encoders.
