Monophonic analogue synthesizer
The Behringer Model D is a monophonic analogue synthesizer in desktop design. For the authentic replication of the legendary Minimoog Model D sound, "D-typical" JFETs and identical transistors, resistors and capacitors were used. A completely analogue signal path for VCO, VCF and VCA, as well as the classic 24dB cascade filter allow incredibly assertive and distinctive sounds. Furthermore the Model D offers additional features such as a filter characteristic switchable between low/high pass and a semi-modular design, which makes the Behringer Model D a complete synth voice perfectly integrated into modular Eurorack synthesizers.
Detailed Minimoog Model D replication
The authentic sound was achieved by replicating all sound shaping instances in detail:
- Three oscillators with five waveforms with pulse width modulation
- Noise generator to generate further waveforms
- Completely analogue signal path of VCO, VCF and VCA
- Assignable, fully analogue LFO with square/triangle waveform
- Overdrive circuit (Overload)
- Classic 24dB cascade filter with resonance
Additional features
- Selectable filter characteristics between low/high pass for an extended sound spectrum
- Semi-modular (internally pre-wired) signal flow for straightforward playing without additional cabling
- For modular system applications, the internal pre-wiring can be "broken" by patching cables and used for modulation
- Use as full synthesizer voice in the Eurorack modular system with 14 patch points
- Extensive MIDI implementation
